
Campers at Altitude participate in a wide variety of traditional camp activities. Since we recognize that each of our campers has unique talents and interests, in addition to having scheduled activities, there are opportunities throughout each day for campers to choose electives or preferred activities. A sampling of our daily recreational activities and an outline of our daily schedule is listed below.
Rhythm & Movement Activities:
Cooperative band, parachute activities, musical chairs, jump rope and hula hooping, aerobics or stretching our bodies to fun music, and a variety of drills and games for the group to work together to create a rhythm or sounds.
Sports:
A variety of sports drills and games (non-competitive), such as: soccer, volleyball, basketball, kickball, flag football, frisbee, and bean bag games.
EXAMPLES: Basketball: (in teams, groups, or one on one) Horse, around the world, dribble contests; Frisbee: Frisbee golf: the staff hang up hula-hoops around the area and the campers fling their frisbees and try to make it through the hoop; Kickball: All staff members dress in fun costumes and help on each team. Must run the bases backward.
Arts & Crafts: (crafts vary every year)
Projects, such as: fuse beads, scrap booking, magic scratch, decorate/make cards to send home, jewelry making, sun catchers, key chains, mosaics, magnets, and picture frames.

Evening Activities:
Scavenger hunts, treasure hunts, team building games, cohort photo ops, movie nights, dance night, birthday celebrations (if applicable), and a talent show on the last night of camp.
EXAMPLES of activities: Recycle, Reuse, & MOVE!: the campers are given a variety of recycled materials and a time limit in which to create an object that moves or has moving parts, and then present it to the group; Dance Night: The counselors lead camp dances such as: Bunny Hop, Electric Slide, Macarena, and many, many others; Movie Nights: Movies are chosen by the staff and are rated G or PG.
Additional Activities:

vary with each university campus.
